COLLECTIVE WHITE HOUSE

The Collective White House is a 1/5th scale replica of the US White House constructed out of bedsheets and installed in Plaza Botero in Medellin, Colombia where it functions as a peoples’ embassy– a collective platform and gathering place for discussion and participation on the role and influence of US politics.

The White House is an icon of United States power with profound impact on people’s lives all over the planet, most of whom play little or no role in political decision-making processes. To address this exclusion, Collective White House turns an historic symbol of institutional authority into a collective social space to encourage cultural and political dialogue, participation, empowerment and reciprocity.
